- Background of the Study
As much as we'd like for it to be otherwise, injuries still happen. One example of injuries is abrasions, it happen when skin comes contact with a rough material. Skinned knees or palms are the most common types of abrasions. Bleeding is usually minimal. So I chose this study to help people find cheaper cure for abrasions.
We all know that gumamela (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn) is used for ornamental cultivation througout the country. Gumamela contains anodyne that can relieves pain. So it is suitable to be a cure for abrasions because it ha the ability to relive pain.
- Statement of the Problem
This study tries to find out if gumamela leaves extract can cure external wounds specifically, abrasions.
Specifically, it will try to answer the following question:
1.) Can gumamela leaves extract cure abrasions?
- Hypothesis
1.) Gumamela leaves extract can cure abrasions.
2.) Gumamela leaves extract cannot cure abrasions.
- Significance of the Study
This study determines if gumamela leaves extract cure abrasions. Since most of the people dont have antiseptic in their homes they could find a substitute for it like gumamela leaves extract. It is also cheaper and easy to find. Gumamela leaves extract is also environment- friendly because there's no harmful chemicals added to the extract that can harm the environment.
- Scope and Limitation
This study is limited only in determining if gumamela leaves extract can cure abrasions. Moreover, this study pertains only to gumamela leaves, which I chose to investigate.
- Definition of Terms
-GUMAMELA (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn) is a shrub that grows from one meter up to four meters high. Gumamela is also known as: Hibicus, China rose and Shoeflower. In the Philippines, gumamela is cultivated as an environmental plant. The gumamela flower comes in many colors: red, yellow, orange, white, purple, pink and other color combinations.
Gumamela leaves, flowers, roots are used as herbal medicines. It has the following medicinal characteristics: expectorant, diurect, emollient, anti- infectious, anti- infamatory, antipyretic, anodyne and refrigerant.
